Privacy Policy
Effective October 14, 2026
The Bon App (a trade name of Bonnie Michelle Crowder, Houston, Texas; "we") builds and runs conference apps for conference organizers. This policy covers those apps: the attendee app and the organizer portal for each conference. The organizer of your conference (for example, the Alabama School of Alcohol and Other Drug Studies, ASADS) decides what the app is used for, and we run it on their behalf.
What we collect
- Your account: your name, email address, password (stored only in scrambled form), and the details you add to your profile, such as phone numbers, organization, job title, professional role and a photo.
- Your conference activity: your registration, the sessions you attend, your survey answers, and your continuing‑education certificates.
- Speakers and proposals: the proposals you submit, your biography and any files you upload, and reviewers' scores and comments.
- Sponsors and exhibitors: your billing name, email, address and organization, what you bought, and the logos, ads and other materials you upload.
- Payments: card payments are handled by PayPal. We never see or store your card number. We keep a record of the payment itself, such as the amount, the date and PayPal's reference.
- Usage: anonymous page-view counts (Vercel Analytics, which uses no cookies), and the error reports you choose to send us.
How we use it
- To run the conference: your account, the schedule, attendance, certificates, proposals and sponsorships.
- To send you email about your account and your conference, such as receipts, confirmations, decisions and password resets. We don't send marketing email.
- To keep the apps working and secure.
We don't sell your information, and we don't use it for advertising.
Who can see it
- Your conference organizer sees the information they need to run the conference.
- Other attendees see what you allow in the attendee directory. You can hide any of it in your profile.
- Exhibitors receive attendee contact details only as described in the app, and you can opt out in your profile.
- Our service providers store and process information only so the apps can work: Supabase (database and file storage), Vercel (hosting), Resend (email delivery) and PayPal (payments).
- The law: we may disclose information when the law requires it.
Cookies
We use one cookie, to keep you signed in. We don't use advertising or tracking cookies.
How long we keep it
We keep your information while your conference's organizer uses the app, and for as long as the organizer needs it for its records, such as continuing‑education certificates and financial records.
Your choices
You can update your profile at any time in the app. To ask for a copy of your information, or to have it deleted, email us at the address below. Some records, such as payments and certificates, may need to be kept for legal or accounting reasons.
Children
Our apps are for conference professionals and are not meant for children under 13. We don't knowingly collect information from them.
Changes
If we change this policy, we'll post the new version here with a new effective date.
